First-year students are eligible to apply for a Founder’s Award, a fellowship awarded based on your academic and community performance in your first year at Carnegie Mellon West.

Billing and Payment Options

  • Monthly Payment Plan. Carnegie Mellon offers a monthly payment option through a vendor named TMS. This service is available during only the Fall and Spring semesters, not during Summer semester. A student pays TMS an enrollment fee for an interest-free loan. TMS pays Carnegie Mellon University the tuition and bills the student each month. More information.
  • Direct Bill to Employer. If your employer allows it, Carnegie Mellon can bill your tuition directly to your employer instead of you.  We will need a letter of sponsorship on company letterhead that specifies the semester you are to be invoiced for and what the company will pay for (i.e. tuition and mandatory fees, all fees, tuition but not fees, etc.). Once we receive that documentation, we can forward it to Enrollment Services in Pittsburgh. Then, CMU will send the company a special invoice.
